4/19/2023 0 Comments Hell architect reviewIn terms of content, it seems like all their focus was on quantity of tortures over all else. The list goes on, and 1/2 of it is simple fixes that could have been done already. It's difficult to pick up overlapped sinners, but the option to pick them up via their portrait or the sinner menu doesn't exist. The controls can be wonky, but they can't be rebound. The worst people in history are called Legends instead of something logical like Infamous, thus causing confusion and inadvertently aggrandizing them. Various Quality of Life changes that could make the game easier to play / more enjoyable / less confusing go ignored in lieu of adding more things that aren't currently needed in the form of graphical updates, sinners, or what have you. I'm in hell, but the entire population is humans? Pretty boring un-interactive game play if you ask me. There's also a very limited amount of interaction with the demons themselves. I want to feel like all my work matters, but it doesn't. ![]() The reward to farming all that suffering is just more efficient ways of farming said suffering. Aside from the few scenario goals, you just keep building stuff and farming suffering just so you can build more stuff to farm more suffering. Let me start off by saying there's no real end goal to the game. What I didn't expect was the amount of bugs that would follow and the still very limited content. There were bugs and content was limited, but that was to be expected given that it was a prologue prior to the game being released. I had already decided to buy it because I like colony sims like Oxygen Not Included, but most importantly I love Demons <3. During that time, beta was taking place with the select few who were chosen to do so. I played through the prologue scenario a couple times and the sandbox while waiting for the main game to release. If someone who apparently loves the game only gets less than a few hours out of it before they move onto something else, just imagine what you'd get out of it if you didn't. Also take into account positive review play time. I think it's worth taking that into account when considering purchasing this. ![]() ![]() As far as most prospective buyers are concerned, this is a non-early access game. Guest appearances: Play as Legendary Characters, a motley crew of history’s most despicable sinners who drop into your domain, each possessing special abilities to help build your devilish masterpiece. If you look around on the steam page, it doesn't seem to say that this game is early access anywhere.Hell never looked so good: The stylish 2D art style perfectly blends with the brutal, gorey themes and is topped off with outstanding dark humour.Crack the whip: Treat the sinners sent to your humble abode to different fun (or not so fun) sources of suffering, be it punishing them for disobedience or just for fun.A constant stream of new lost souls will provide more hands to use, but will require managing to keep them working. Management is key: Harvesting resources, building an infrastructure and expanding your Hell will be key in your success. If you build it, they will suffer!: Begin with basic buildings like power stations (yup they need those in Hell too!) and canteens for your hungry workers and expand your empire to include shrines and intricate torture contraptions to increase the level of suffering for your weary residents.Create the Hell of your dreams: Flex your creative muscles to design, build and furnish 9 infamous levels of Hell in the single player campaign mode, or spend a hellish eternity designing your own chaotic masterpiece from scratch in sandbox mode.To climb down the corporate ladder, you must gain the approval of the greatest and most feared devils in Hell, including the head honcho, Lucifer himself, as they evaluate your hard work as well as your sense of aesthetics and thriftiness! Just like all good (or bad) big corporations, Hell is a tightly run ship and under the watchful eye of Lilith from the HR department, you must devise the most creative ways to squeeze as much suffering as you can out of the sinners who will be spending eternity in this hot spot. Your task here is to craft new prisons for the lost souls and sinners who have found themselves ‘downstairs’. ![]() In Hell Architect you’re playing as, you guessed it, an architect of Hell.
